About Us | Marguerite Barbacci
Marguerite Barbacci received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Akron and a Master of Public Health (Epidemiology) from The Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health. Her clinical career has centered on maternal-infant nursing, both in the hospital setting and as a home health nurse. Ms. Barbacci worked in clinical research at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for 9 years prior to commencing a career as a legal nurse consultant (LNC). During her tenure at Johns Hopkins, Ms. Barbacci’s research focus was infectious diseases, with a specialty in sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS in pregnancy. Ms. Barbacci has been a legal nurse consultant since 1991, working in-house for both plaintiff and defense firms and as an independent consultant. Marguerite has worked on cases in a variety of categories: medical malpractice; personal injury; product liability; toxic tort and Medicare fraud investigation. She joined the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC) in 1991 and was among the first group of LNCs to achieve the Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) credential in 1998. As a founding member of the Greater Baltimore Area Chapter of AALNC, she served in the offices of director-at-large, secretary, and president. Marguerite served on the AALNC national board of directors from 1998-2003.
Ms. Barbacci served as an Associate Editor of the 2nd edition of the AALNC text, Principles and Practice of Legal Nurse Consulting. She served on the editorial board of the Journal of Legal of Nurse Consulting from 2002-2005 and as the journal editor-in-chief in 2004-2005.
