We’d like to introduce you to Lisa Hughes, a key member of the ALN Consulting team. Lisa has over 20 years of nursing and legal nurse consulting experience covering hospital medical-surgical and orthopedic nursing, home health, long-term care, and risk management.
Lisa’s nursing career started in 1986 when she became a licensed practical nurse. She worked in long-term care until she became a registered nurse in 1991. Soon after Lisa worked on the medical surgical unit and orthopedics unit at a local hospital in Louisiana.
After the birth of her first child, she transitioned to Assistant Director of a long-term care facility in 1993. Lisa would soon take on more leadership as she was promoted to Director of Nursing for a large, long-term care chain in her home state of Louisiana. She remained in this position for ten years.
In 2005, Lisa became a certified legal nurse consultant and started working as a risk manager for 15-20 long-term care facilities. In 2010, she began working as a Medicare recovery audit contractor, and as a record reviewer for product liability cases. Soon afterward, she would join the ALN team as a legal nurse consultant.
Her long-term care experience and her leadership made Lisa the perfect candidate for ALN’s dynamic team. Over the past six years, Lisa has contributed greatly to the ALN team. Not only does she mentor new long-term care associates, she is also well-versed in long-term care surveying, and federal regulations and standards of care policies. She is truly invaluable and a great leader!
